An Interview with Petra Kravos – A Full-Time Health and Wellness Blogger

A Tête-à-Tête With U. K’s Leading Health and Lifestyle Blogger – Petra Kravos

Today, I had a chance to interview one of the leading health and wellness bloggers of the U.K – Petra Kravos. Her blog covers a range of topics, including but not limited to, fitness and natural health.

When asked about what led her to become a full-time blogger, she
said that the death of her parents due to cancer was one of the main reasons for
her to start writing blogs. Now, she takes pride in sharing her knowledge and
findings with a group of audience that possesses the desire to maintain and lead
a healthy life.

Answering to what are her favourite exercises, Petra said cycling, hiking, and dancing are her all-time favourites. As a tip to youngsters, she says it’s best if they keep track of their achievements and exercise daily. Though there is no problem with skipping workouts and eating unhealthy stuff occasionally.

Who are you and what do you do?

I am Petra, originally from Slovenia but living in England. A big
passion of mine is a healthy lifestyle and helping people to be healthier by
giving them my top tips and advice. I run a health blog called Be Healthy Now which is one of the top UK’s health blogs. The blog covers a
variety of topics, from healthy eating and fitness to natural beauty and
natural health.

What inspired you to start your blog related to health?

Both of my parents died of cancer which was one of the main
reasons why I started my blog. With my blog I wanted to share my own journey to
better health and I really wanted a place online where I can share my new
knowledge and findings with an audience who are interested in the same topics.

What do you enjoy most about blogging?

I really enjoy researching and learning new things about health, nutrition and cancer prevention.

What do you do to relax and de stress?

I love reading books and when I have some time in the
evening I like to sit down, read a good book and have some chamomile tea while
reading it.

What is your least favourite health fad and why?

I’ve never thought of this before but I think my least
favourite health fads would be all sorts of diets which just don’t work. Yes,
initially people may lose some weight but if they don’t change their lifestyle
that weight will quickly come back. Diets simply don’t work and people need to
take a different approach to lose weight.

What is your most trusted natural remedy or keep healthy tip?

I really love all sorts of herbal teas, such as chamomile
and fennel as they help with digestion and can soothe the painful stomach. This
kind of teas are also rich in antioxidants and have many other health benefits.
It’s great to drink them every day to reap their benefits.

What are your favourite 3 exercises?

I love cycling, hiking and dancing.

What are your top 5 tips for staying focused, healthy and reaching your goals?

First of all, know your ‘why’ as this is what will keep you
going, also when it’s not easy. You may want to be healthy to prevent some kind
of illness that is running in your family or maybe it’s because you want to
live a long, healthy life so you can enjoy it to the maximum. Be clear on your
‘why’ and this will really keep you going.

Understandably, it’s not always going to be easy and there
will be challenges. Join forces with your friends or family members who are
trying to reach similar goals. When you have some support around you and
somebody to exercise with, you will more motivated to continue on your journey.

Make a plan and keep a diary of your achievements. Once you
see how much you’ve achieved you will never want to go back and you will just
want to keep going.

Don’t be always so strict on yourself and let yourself have
some naughty foods from time to time. Skipping a workout is totally fine as
well. Being healthy doesn’t mean you have to be good 100% of your time. It’s
all about the balance. It’s actually not bad to eat your favourite treats once
in a while and this could prevent you from bingeing if you haven’t had these
foods in a while.

Finally, just enjoy yourself on the journey. Do the
exercises you love and try new things. Try different workouts, experiment with
foods and try new recipes. Keep things exciting and varied. In this way, it
will be much more fun and enjoyable to stay healthy.
